On completion of training participants, will be able to effectively operate as part of an emergency control organisation (ECO). Students gain the skills and knowledge required to work within the command, control and coordination structure of an ECO. The training delivered will be in-line with the requirements set out in: - AS3745 Planning for Emergencies in Facilities; and - AS4083 Planning For Emergencies - Health Care Facilities On completion, participants will understand the types of emergencies that can occur within your workplace. Their individual responsibilities, legal obligations, and duty of care requirements to fulfill their role. Topics covered are; - facility risk analysis - Facility life systems (smoke, heat sprinklers) - human behavior - preparing & responding to emergencies - accurate reporting - fire panel operation - emergency warnings, signals, and - initial control of the emergency response. - evacuation procedures UNITS Can provide both accredited and nonaccredited training ENTRY REQUIREMENT There are no entry requirements to this Unit of Competency. Pathways Information: This Unit of Competency has no pathway. COURSE INCLUDES HLTAID003 – Provide first aid; Workbooks, training material, assessments; and Practical activities. DELIVERY MODE AND DURATION This Unit of competency is to be delivered as follows: Blended elearning, students will need to complete an online course prior to attendance for the face-to-face one-day course (3hrs). Blended workbook, students will be sent the textbook for them to study prior to coming for the face to face of which they will have a bigger assessment on the day of the course( one day course approximately 7 hrs) The recommended industry standard to maintain current competency is for this course to be refreshed every 3 years with the CPR component refreshed every 12 months.
