Learners to undertake HLTAID003 – Provide first aid are those required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. UNITS HLTAID003 – Provide first aid ENTRY REQUIREMENT There are no entry requirements to this Unit of Competency. Pathways information: This Unit of Competency has no pathway. COURSE INCLUDES HLTAID003 – Provide first aid; Workbooks, training material, assessments; and Practical activities. DELIVERY MODE AND DURATION This Unit of competency is to be delivered as follows: Blended elearning, students will need to complete an online course prior to attendance for the face to face one day course (7hrs). Blended workbook, students will be sent the textbook for them to study prior to coming for the face to face of which they will have a bigger assessment on the day of the course( one day course approximately 7 hrs) The recommended industry standard to maintain current competency is for this course to be refreshed every 3 years with the CPR component refreshed every 12 months.
